In a Small Cafe
In some small cafe,
Long ago, we met one day,
Where an ancient gramophone,
Did an old waltz play,
And we just looked,
Knew right away,
- that very day,
Love had come our way,
But then, the war did start,
And fate drove us apart,
And when from combat I returned,
My bridges to the past had burned,
Desperately, looked for you again,
But all my searching was in vain.
A life time has passed,
And I am old and gray,
But often do I think of you,
In that small cafe,
Where long ago,
We fell in love one day......
