The Grand Illusion

The Christian, Moslem and the Jew
All argue with astounding zest
On what religion to pursue,
Always putting them to the test,
On which god is the very best,
But then, those ancient Jews,
Old Abraham and Jesus,
Started this peculiar game,
And in the very end,
All these religions are the same.

Frankly, I've come to the conclusion,
That all religions are an illusion,
Or better said, just a delusion.
To treat the tragedy of life as an exotic,
Religion is the very best narcotic.
The secret of life's mystery
Is far beyond our poor philosophy.
