Behind the Pantomime

Politicos spout platitudes,
Robbing the public,
Yet pretending
Compassionate attitudes;
The rich live well,
Pay much less tax,
Export the jobs,
While the middle class?
They get the ax.
Religion is another
Profitable line
With preachers
Praising the divine,
Living the good life,
While societies decline.
Ah yes, there is much crime
Behind benevolent pantomime.
