American swing
Is the musical heartbeat
Of a great nation,
A fast moving, vibrant force,
The Greco-Roman empire
Of the twentieth century,
Yet, a free, tolerant
And humane society,
Steeped in a spirit of liberty,
A melting pot of many nations,
A dream for the whole
World to emulate in its
Avant garde creativity
And the better life style
Of its people,
A nation, peaceful
Tolerant and kind,
But if attacked and aroused,
An unbeatable opponent,
Strong as the driving force
Of its music.
