In my Garden

We live in an age
Of wars, killing and decadence,
Without rationality and common sense,
And sometimes this depresses me
- no end,
For I see chaos just around the bend,
Then I take my I pod and some poetry,
Read Heine and hear Mozart
In my garden 'neath the maple tree,
Surrounded by nature's beauty
Where birds and butterflies roam free
And happy thoughts then beckon me...
