Religion?

Religion is but a subterfuge for fear
Of unknown horizons
And our mortality,
And thus, we invent gods
Who don't exist
In various phases of an unreality,
Each faction claiming
Gods with better qualities,
Uttering prayers and
Nonsensical banalities,
Only resulting in religious
Wars with great fatalities;
Forget your gods, you fools, I'd say
And face up to this world's realities...
