Reality and Illusion

Reality is a nebulous affair
Because of what we perceive
Is really not there,
For the world is an illusion
Created by our senses,
Selective perception
And modified pretenses
Since the macrocosm
And microcosm we see
Is always shrouded
In a hidden mystery
And true reality
Is beyond our philosophy.

Perchance, we'll learn
The ultimate reality one day
And possibly wish
We had never found the way.
