The Human Condition

It's still the same old song,
People fight and never get along,
One is always right,
The other always wrong,
Causing wars, death and misery
Throughout eons of history
Up to the first till the second
World war conflagrations
When 54 million died
In all participating nations
Till the cold war episode
Which ended on a peaceful note
Followed by the Islamic revolution,
Caused by chauvinistic hubris,
With, so far, no resolution,
And when this one is over,
An other conflict will come along,
It'll be the same old song
Till it will all end
In a nuclear blast
Through which
No living soul will last.
