King Lear's Daughters

Sharper than a serpent's tooth
Hurts an ungrateful child,
Brought up with loving care,
Yet, evil, indifferent, wild,
Sad is the parents' fate
Who try their very best,
Yet, spawn an ingrate,
For a child is like an arrow,
Well aimed -
But once it leaves the bow
No one can tell
Where it may go...
