A Life

Led a long and fruitless life,
Had no children, had no wife,
Had no trade and no profession,
Work was never my obsession,
Lived on streets or in a slum,
Had my whiskey and my rum,
People called me a drunken bum,
But never did I care or worry,
Frankly, about my life
I am not sorry.
