Window of the Soul
Look into the window
Of the soul - the eye
And in it one may see
The truth or a lie,
A sense of quiet despair
Or an expression
Of love and care,
Of honesty or deception
There'll be a reflection,
But as people age a bit,
Their eyes narrow
Down to a slit,
Perhaps to hide
Their emotional stage,
A sense of animosity
Or blind rage,
Yet, when you look
Into a man's eye,
Whether it's just a slit
Or open wide,
The truth is
Hard to hide.
