Jesus

Jesus was a pious Jew,
Followed the commandments
All the way through,
He had a reverence for life,
A man of peace,
Against war and strife,
Stood up for the weak,
Man's brotherhood,
The poor and the meek,
A man of the people,
Simple, good and kind,
With him you'd no
Pretensions find,
If he were to rise and see
What was done in his name,
The persecution of Jews,
The Inquisition or the lavish
Church's political game,
He'd call it an outrage,
An indefensible shame.
