Opposites

There is a strange similarity
Between genius and insanity,
Self-praise and vanity
Hiding self-doubt and insecurity,
The nature of the macrocosm
And the microcosm,
The sensations of hot and cold,
The behaviour of the very young
And the senile old,
Between opposing religions
Which all have the same theme,
Fear of death and hope of an
Afterlife is the common scheme,
The good and the bad qualities
Are found in the same personalities,
It is also a fact,
That opposites
Each other attract,
And if this is not enough,
Love easily turns to hate
And hate, at times, to love.
Yes - indeed,
Opposites meet.
