Taxpayers' Ripoff (in prose)

Crooked mortgage brokers selling
ascending variable mortgages
to clients who cannot afford them,
taking high commissions and run,
backed by questionable bankers
using public funds for their benefits,
Wall Street brokers selling stocks
of companies near failure to a
gullible public and grabbing
their high turnover commissions
or using Ponzi schemes to
defraud the public and charities,
executives of badly managed
corporations using funds for
bonuses, golden parachutes
and private jets while their
companies are destined
for certain bankruptcies,
corrupt politicians who collect
from lobbies special interest
money or take graft to grant
elective offices to paying clients
are all, like sharks sensing blood,
waiting to tear into the stimulus
package sponsored by an idealistic
and well- meaning president
who wants to save our country
from the mistakes of the past
and our present robber barons.
