Nazis

Gray is the sky
and blue my heart,
my time is up,
I must depart,
death is afoot,
if I stay here,
I'm overcome
with horrid fear,
there is gunfire
SS troops are here
to kill all Jews,
a minute before
they shot
my neighbor
at his door,
they killed
my brother
in his bed,
and most Jews
in my village
are now dead,
oh, my dear God
help me escape,
I want to live,
my need is great,
please let me go
to some foreign place
where people live
in peace and grace
where they'll just
simply let me be,
where men have souls
and Jews are free...
