John's Story

John had this burning fantasy
Of a successful destiny,
To reach the heights
Which were his to be,
He twisted and turned,
Tried, hoped and yearned,
But a living wage
He never earned,
Worked in a grocery
For minimum wage,
But within him
There lurked
A frustrated rage,
Till one day John
Claimed he was God,
Though people
Told him he was not,
But in the asylum,
In Moses and Jesus
He found new friends,
And on this happy note
John's story ends.
