Opiate of the People

Gods, heaven, hell and damnation
Or some other inane creation,
Proclaimed by the clerics
With their usual hysterics,
Creating a religious opiate addiction
Or some similar strange affliction,
Turning into a fanatic's psychosis
From a religious neurosis,
Fired on by religions' czars
Starting worldwide wars,
With atom bombs
Around the bend,
When used, it all
Will come to an end.
