Private Robert Wagner
Bob came to America
As a refugee
To escape the Holocaust
And find liberty,
He fought in the invasion
Of Normandy,
He was killed at St. Lo,
Fighting the Nazis,
Sixty five years ago,
Let us never forget
We owe our freedom
To those honored dead,
Up to the end
He was my best friend,
A good part of life
He had never seen
For Bob was
Only nineteen.
