Foolish Mortals

We pray to gods
Who don't exist,
In failed religions
We persist,
On national chauvinism
We insist,
Edged on by imams,
Priests, political czars
Fermenting religious
And national wars.

Reflecting on this
One can clearly see
What utter fools
These mortals be.
