Last Dream in Auschwitz
Sam closes his eyes
and dreams of his home,
his haven in paradise
living with his family,
two children and wife,
enjoying a secure life
of peace and harmony
in a cottage by the sea,
his profession - a physician,
highly respected,
in a good position,
he dreams of green pastures,
rustling trees and blue skies,
but then - he opens his eyes,
naked people all around,
an eerie hissing sound,
a strange almond smell,
a woman's desperate yell:
"They're killing us here,
this the entrance to hell."
