Wasteland

We dwell in the wasteland
But look at the stars,
Dream of peace and green pastures
Yet have pollution and wars,
We proclaim justice, morality
In a society decadent
With indecency, carnality,
Our world, seemingly,
A free democratic shell,
But in reality, beneath it all,
A predatory jungle,
A living hell.
