Lost Lovers

They were two lost souls
In an alien world,
They somehow could
Not find their way,
Deteriorated more
Each single day,
And finally, they broke,
Just could not cope,
Blocked out the world
With drink and dope,
Prostitution and sloth
Gave way to hope
When they met
And fell in love,
They wanted a new life,
They had enough,
They now felt needed,
Happy, restored, sublime,
Emotions never known,
Almost divine,
Two lonely people
In complete accord,
In each other they found
In storms - a port,
With heart and soul
They deeply did care,
With pure emotions,
Clean, decent and fair,
They opened up a brand
New promising gate,
But habit, addiction and
Life had sealed their fate,
They tried so hard,
But it was much too late,
At least, they crashed
Together - not alone,
Doomed - in each other
Did they find a home...
