Old Europe

Europe suffers from
Birthrate reduction,
Its dwindling population
Replaced by an influx of
Third World concoction,
Its industries diminished
By cheaper Asian production,
Cutting culture and wages,
Turning old Europe
Back to the Dark Ages...

On the Edge

Living on the razor's edge,
To myself I make this pledge,
If I don't tumble into the dark,
Live to hear the morning lark,
I'll be evermore content,
Feel my luck is heaven sent...

Life is like Ice Cream

Life is like
Ice cream
On a stick,
Before it melts
Do not just lick,
Fully enjoy
And eat it quick
For if you tarry,
You're old and sick,
Walking slowly
With a stick...

Life Examined

He examined his life
From birth to death
Through struggle and strife,
Looked at its value and style
And found:
It was not worthwhile.

End

The light grows dimmer,
His chances slimmer,
Life is fading,
With death the winner,
From his disease
He found release,
Now rests in peace,
And on the morrow
There'll be some sorrow,
His body rotten
And soon forgotten...

Just Dream...

Just dream
A little dream of me,
If you still remember,
Wherever you may be,
That night in June
When we made love
'neath the Vermont moon,
For you - it was a
Short summer affair,
But for me -
I never stopped to care,
We would have made
Such a great pair,
I'll always miss you,
Hope, life treated you fair.
Just dream
A little dream of me,
If you still remember,
Wherever you may be...

Escapade

Hold back the dawn,
So this delicious night
May linger on and on
Ere daylight grays
And you'll be gone,
You to your husband,
I to my wife,
To continue,
In an ordinary way,
Our miserable life...

Full Employment?

China and India now handle
Our clerical jobs and production
Resulting in our skilled
Labor force reduction
And Republicans claim
With great enjoyment
That our country
Has full employment,
But the former
Highly paid labor force
Is a new minimum wage
Sales clerk source,
Thus, Walmart gets its perks,
The supermarkets get their clerks
And others work as soda jerks
In a land where only
The rich and poor can last
While the middle class
Perishes fast.

John F. Kennedy

Good night, sweet prince,
Your passing brought deep sorrow,
The likes of you we'll never see
On any future morrow,
Endowed with talent and ability,
A man of stature and nobility,
Taken from us in his very prime,
So much he could have done
Had fate allowed him more time,
And now, all we have left are
Oil hucksters and crooked politicians,
Leaders creating deplorable conditions.

New Fashion

Planned obsolescence
Is the driving force in fashion,
To sell new goods each season
Is the marketer's passion,
To strip the consumer
Yearly of his money
And make the manufacturer's
Life more sunny.
