Maxims

In life we never own,
we only rent or loan
and all worldly gain
is in the end in vain...

With procrastination
one has no future
except stagnation...

F0rget the yesterdays,
don't live for the morrow,
just grab the moment
to avoid sorrow...

What we love today,
we may hate tomorrow
for today's pleasures
may soon turn to sorrow...

One's happy outer shell
may hide an inner hell...

The good and pliable
are in today's society
not very viable...

An unrealized scheme
remains an empty dream...

A king once said it well,
once I am gone
this world can go to hell...

People live on the credit card
in a dream world - quite apart,
then they declare bankruptcy
with Uncle Sam paying the stimuli,
printing an infinite money supply
which may make the wobbly dollar die...

In a predatory world
where sharks eat little fish,
morality is but an idle wish...

The Second World War
improved the economy - by far
which leads one to the conclusion
the cure for a worldwide depression
a major war maybe the best solution,
besides it purges each nation
of threatening overpopulation...

Don't put on others the blame
if you ruined your own game...

Today - enjoy your fame,
for on the morrow
they'll forget your name...

Nouveau Riche in the Palms

From virgin to bitch,
from angel to witch,
from rags to rich
but still into kitsch,
this lady of the night
turned into society's delight,
she married rich, old men thrice,
a bit of senility attracted by vice,
two found their speedy demise
eating poisonous mushrooms with rice,
the third one fell out of bed
and fatally hit his head,
the poisoning she could not repeat
'cause mushrooms he refused to eat,
now, she's high society in the Palms,
admired for her wealth and charms,
but her past gives her no qualms.

Nature's Law

It's nature's law,
perchance - a flaw,
for ruthless
predators to thrive
while ordinary folks
can barely stay alive,
this is how banks
and the big shots grab
all the stimulus honey
leaving the little people
homeless without money.

Future of Computers

Organic Computers

Soon the transistors using silicone
will be be replaced by organic cells
found in human flesh and bone
creating through a DNA stain
the replication of the human brain
turning computer capacity
from today's gigabytes
into a new tomorrow's
thousands of terabytes,
using neuron synapses,
to become man's superior tutor
through the organic computer.

Atomic Computer

Some atoms nearly last forever,
properly used by many generations
they are assured to give out - never
with their positive-negative
amazing binary memory ability
they have close to an infinite utility,
thus a computer, small as a watch,
has a super computer's capability,
perchance, implanted in a human brain,
we, poor mortals, may wisdom gain
and from past mistakes abstain.

Idealist

By the people selected
and the majority elected
this decent idealist
now rushes over here
and hustles over there,
wanting to rush everywhere
and after running for a while
no one can find him anywhere,
increasing his quiet desperation
in trying to free from rotten mold
our once prosperous nation.

God and the Devil

When God took Adam's rib,
He made a really fateful slip
For Eve took the apple off the tree
And thus created human misery,
Then God said be fruitful and multiply
For no particular reason - why,
And soon those human maggots
Built their towers into the sky,
Also sending their fiery rockets
To all the planets nearby,
Then God looked at the universe
Thinking those people are perverse,
For me this is way too much,
It seems I've lost my touch,
To thus continue, I have no desire,
It's high time for me to retire,
I will ring the doomsday bell,
Call my old buddy, Satan,
And let those creatures go to hell!

Polliticians

Politicians pay lip service
to any suitable ideals
in redundant speeches
they sound their appeals,
promise anything to be selected
and forget it all once elected
only to be absolutely sure
of a secure sinecure
with topnotch health insurance
and the lobbies' graft assurance,
then they surely have it made
till the next election date
when they repeat their spiels
of promises and appeals.

Power Elite

One cannot beat
the power elite,
they change
like chameleons
to suit the regime
in order to dominate
the political scene,
once they were kings
and aristocrats,
then they were the Nazi
and Communist autocrats,
now days they are
bureaucratic democrats,
those very clever predators
who manipulate the scores,
always grabbing the gold
while plain folks are
left in the cold...

Lola's Dreams

In dreams I see him yet,
a handsome lad,
romantic eyes,
who shared my bed,
love of my life,
I was his wife,
till one 'fine' day
he claimed
to be really gay
and with his lover
ran away,
lately, in dreams
I see him dead
besides his lover
in a bloody bed.

In Spring young folks'
hormones rush

as sperm meets egg,
there is no thought

only to enjoy seduction,
never baby production,
this is the unfortunate source
of many a bad marriage,
single parent status,
abortion and divorce.

Solution

If there's a recession
turning into a depression
raising unemployment
to over twenty percent
with houses foreclosed
or no money for rent
and factories failing,
the economy ailing,
we must find some
unpleasant nation
ready for liberation
with some nasty regime
which doesn't seem clean
or a disagreeable faith
seeming not to act straight,
then provoke World War Three,
this will surely fix the economy.

Bulls and Cows

Why marry
and not tarry,
making merry
with Tom, Dick
and Harry,
for life is dull
with just one bull.

If only satisfaction
is life's sought for end,
than be a cow,
she's content.

Don't marry in a hurry
just tarry and make merry,
no cow is required
because a little milk
is at times desired.

Give a cheer,
Give a cheer,
Have no fear,

Turns into a dead mouse,
Dollar bills can be used
To heat the house...

Financial Alligator

I'm a financial manipulator,
on Wall Street they
call me 'The Alligator',
all big and small fishes
are my favorite dishes,
I catch my fishes
with profit honey
and they gladly
give me their money
and when no one looks
I cook the books
and move their funds
here and there
I move them everywhere
with derivatives and other schemes
till they can't be found anywhere,
but only by me they can be found,
they're in my Bahamas bank account.

Secrets of the Universe

For the mathematical certainty
which rules the universe
to be a purely chancy accident
would seem perverse,
the process of creation
is not some vague dream
but a well organized,
highly intelligent scheme
and what its true nature may be
is presently beyond our philosophy
of chance or an imaginary divinity,
science may one day solve the quest
if we pursue the secrets of the universe
with diligence, intellect and zest.

Gypsy Band 1930-1945

Hungary 1930

On the village's border land
the Gypsy wagons stand
and at night one can hear
music of the Gypsy band
telling their melancholy story
of their wanderings and lost glory,
full of passion is each tune
played beneath a shining moon,
Gypsy music breaking the heart
about a people quite apart...

Auschwitz 1945

There's a section in this camp
where they gassed the Gypsy band,
It is said, strangers passing by
hear Gypsy music from the sky,
could be the wind rustling in the trees
or the Gypsies who never found peace...

We're born in pain,
We live in vain
Through struggle
And strain,

Leaving a fading memory
Soon lost in history...

who lives in my computer,

who answers every why,
advises me about the market,

replaces all I hear or see
on my radio and TV,
brings me always something new,
cheers me up when I am blue,
I keep my computer as a steady
because I'm married already.

Andromeda Galaxy 3500 AD

An intergalactic traveler
from Andromeda's planet Ray
landed on Earth one fine day,
an abandoned planet
in the galaxy of the Milky Way,
he found an old diary in its debris
giving some light on its mystery,
an amazing and fascinating story
about a civilization's rise and fall
into total destruction from glory,
it seems there once existed
a strange and brilliant human race
endowed with intellect, talent and grace,
a culture so extraordinary sublime
they bordered on the divine,
but for worldwide pollution,
overcrowding and wars
they found no solution,
with a shortage of food, water and oil
they diminished those treasures
on their limited and exploited soil
and nation fought nation
for raw materials
and to prevent starvation,
in a worldwide nuclear war
resulting in mankind's elimination
and all living organisms' cessation,
the only record left was the diary
with its sinister commentary.

Karl May 1842-1912

Almost every European
learned about the Old Wild West
by reading Karl May's books
who seemed to know America best,
he wrote about the pioneering days,
gunslingers, Indians, cowboys
and their adventurous ways,
his heroes, Old Shatterhand
and his Indian friend, Winnetou,
fought for justice and Indian rights,
two dapper fighters, honest and true.

Karl May wrote about
the Wild West scene,
and an America
he had never seen,
only after he wrote his tales
he visited America
using profits from sales.

Who is Dad?

I asked my mom:
"Why did you give me life?"
"A bad mistake my boy,
Turned me into an accidental wife,
You see, I had this one-night stand,
An unexpected pregnancy,
Unfortunate and out of hand,
So, I immediately laid a trap
For some more decent chap,
Who agreed to quickly marry me,
Out of a real sense of decency,
Since he believed to be your dad,
But, please, don't make him mad
And never, ever tell my story,
He'll leave and we'll both be sorry".

I kept the secret of my mom
And now, both my parents are gone,
But, in a way, I am quite glad
I never found my runaway dad.

Sharks and the Economy

The sharks return
to eat the golden fish
in the US stimulus dish,
granting them every wish,
using Ponzi schemes,
mortgage fraud themes,
derivatives, short sales
and tearful pleading
with sad bankruptcy tales,
or sleazy financial machinations
by grabbing dispossessed homes
in 'buy cheap' crooked operations,
paying for these adventures
with taxes we'll never get
from an economy practically dead,
thus creating galloping inflation
which may ruin our nation
in a reckless experiment
turning the dollar's value
into one red cent.

Lady of his Choice

It was a balmy summer night
with a full moon shining bright
when I met my life's delight,
this dark-haired beauty
with a complexion - ivory white,

and we had a delightful affair,
in love, I asked her to marry me,

but you have my sympathy".

Brother can you spare
a ten dollar bill,

The Dragon

An anxious father
drives his fevered child
through mountain passes
rugged and wild
on a rainy, stormy night
with lightening flashes
casting an eerie light
and the windshield wipers
blurring his sight
racing along at high speed
to save his ailing son
who 's in dire medical need.

"Dad, there is a big dragon
with claws, tail and fiery eye
chasing me from the stormy sky!"
"My boy, it's just your confusion,
the dragon is only an illusion."
"He's after me, spiting fire and wild."
"Not so, not so my dear little child."

When they brought the boy
to the hospital bed,
the doctor quietly said,
"I'm so sorry,
but your poor child is dead".

Jesus

Why is there such glorification
Of the cruel act of crucification,
If Jesus could rise, he'd say -
'I don't want to be seen this way,
You should always remember me
As a shining symbol
Of goodness and decency,
To love your fellow man
The very best way you can,
To honor the weak and the meek
And turn the other cheek,
The Jewish religion I cherished,
I don't want it to be perished,
Neither do I ever want a Church
Of pomp and circumstance,
My beliefs were of a simple stance,
Persecution, torture and inquisition
Were never my position,
If I were ever again to rise,
I'd want to see a new world,
Simple, peaceful, loving and wise.'

while our country is in

about their refugee brothers
and want them to be provided
by the UN, Israel and others,
but they never lift a hand
to let them enter their land,
yet, little Israel
as reported by the news
took in their refugee Jews
who had been citizens
of Arab nations
for countless generations,
while Israeli Arabs live very well
but Gaza's Arabs under Hamas
live in a fascistic veritable hell.

Have these people no shame
to play with Muslim brothers
such a despicable game?

Sumerian Warning to the West

Tread softly on my grave
You men of Western Lands,
Do not defile my temples
With searching, unclean hands,
Do not disturb Sumerian nobles
And irk my Goddess of the moon
Buried beneath the ashes
Of my great land
Which met its end too soon.

I was a great King once,
My name was Ur-Nammu,
Before my word
The ancients trembled,
My friends I raised,
My enemies I slew.

Sumerian Lands lie buried
Beneath the sands of time,
Like all civilizations
Must in this world decline.

Tread softly on my grave
You men of Western Lands,
For some day other men
From other places will dig
Where your civilization stands.

Confidence versus Fear

The financial system
is a shaky house of cards
with credit and confidence
its most essential parts
but if we lose the trust
and fear sets in,
the bubble will bust
leading to a recession
and a run on banks
resulting in depression
not only ruining the economy,
but also affecting us psychologically
by causing more fear and anxiety
suppressing reason and sobriety
which makes it absolutely clear
that our biggest enemies
are lack of confidence - and fear.

Extra Benefits

A shapely body and a pretty face
endowed with charm and grace,
an absolutely stunning gal
with personality, she has it all,
I soon proposed and she accepted,
we married ceremoniously
but the rest was unexpected,
she said she felt neglected,
claimed she needs a lot of action
for sexual satisfaction
and has a constant need
with lots of men to sleep,
It's then, I tell each friend
I have a wife for rent,
so now I have my honey
and make some extra money.

Beyond our Means

Responsibility for our
financial woes - it seems,
we live way beyond our means
from unnecessary wars,
exploration of the stars,
gas-guzzling monster cars,
homes people can't afford,
living on credit card support,
a good life for today,
then bankruptcy,
and never pay,
swindling banks and brokers,
Ponzi tricks and Wall Street jokers,
outsourcing of our industries
causing unemployment miseries,
building up other nations
while ours falls into devastation,
to badly managed companies
looking for stimulus subsidies,
and thus we spend more
than we can ever make,
an irresponsible mistake.

Towards Mecca turned the Arab,
Praying to his god,
To the sun, the cat, the scarab
The Egyptian gave his nod
While the Hindu found his utility
In reincarnation and humility,
In Jesus, Christians
Found their divinity,
Backed by the holy trinity,
Some Papuans worship the alligator
While I pray to my white kitchen god,

Daily I open the portals
Of this heavenly creator
To fill all my needs
Sooner or later...
